If you are looking for a different kind of stay in Sekinchan, Villa Chee is definitely an interesting one to consider. We booked one of their container rooms with two bunk beds, which was quite an experience!
The biggest thing to know is that the container room is really compact. With the bunk beds taking up most of the space, there was barely enough room for us to move around comfortably, especially with our luggage. So if you are used to a normal-sized hotel room, you may find the space quite challenging.

The container room is really compact. With two bunk beds inside, there isn't much space left to move around, especially if you have several pieces of luggage. For a family, the room can feel quite cramped, so don't expect the space of a normal hotel room.
However, the room does have a small balcony overlooking the rice fields, and that really makes up for some of the lack of space.
Waking up in the morning and stepping out onto the balcony, you get to see the beautiful rice fields right in front of you. If you wake up early enough, you can catch a lovely sunrise over the fields. The morning atmosphere feels completely different from staying in a city hotel. The air feels fresh, the surroundings are quiet, and you get to enjoy a much slower pace.
It is a simple experience, but quite refreshing.
However, there is one thing to be prepared for—mosquitoes, especially in the evening. Since the hotel is surrounded by greenery and rice fields, you should definitely bring mosquito repellent if you plan to spend time outdoors after sunset.
🌅 The Rice Field View
The best part of our stay was probably the morning.
You can step out onto the balcony and enjoy the view of the rice fields. If you wake up early, you can also catch a beautiful sunrise over the fields.
There is something really refreshing about sitting outside in the morning, surrounded by the fields, rather than waking up to buildings and traffic. It gives you a completely different feeling from staying in a regular city hotel.
Just remember to bring mosquito repellent, especially if you want to sit outside in the evening. There were quite a lot of mosquitoes around after sunset.
📸 Lots of Photo Spots
Villa Chee also has many cute and colourful areas for taking photos.
There are little photo spots around the property, including the stairs, a violin, a colourful little food-house structure and the “I Love Sekinchan” sign.
So even though the room itself is small, the hotel grounds give you quite a lot to explore and photograph.
There are plenty of little corners where you can stop for a photo, so it is quite fun if you enjoy taking pictures for memories or social media.
🏊 Facilities
There is also a swimming pool with a slide, swings and an arcade, so there are things for children to enjoy.
Unfortunately, I came back quite late and the arcade was already closed, so I didn't get the chance to try it. If you are travelling with children, it would be better to return earlier so you have enough time to enjoy the facilities.

Overall, Villa Chee is not really about having a spacious or luxurious hotel room. The container room is definitely small, and you need to be comfortable with that. Instead, the attraction is the unique container-room experience, the rice-field view, fresh morning atmosphere, photo spots and family-friendly facilities.
For me, the highlight was simply sitting on the little balcony in the morning, looking out at the rice fields and watching the day begin. It gave us a very different experience from a typical hotel stay.

- Some facilities, such as the arcade, have operating hours, so you may miss them if you return late
- Driving in is dark and narrow, so becareful.
💰 Overall
Villa Chee is more about the experience and surroundings than having a spacious or luxurious room.
If you want a comfortable, spacious hotel room, the container room may not be the best choice. But if you want to experience something different, wake up beside the Sekinchan rice fields, take lots of fun photos and let the kids enjoy the pool and facilities, it can be a memorable stay.
For us, the highlight was waking up in the morning, stepping onto the little balcony and looking out at the rice fields. It was simple, peaceful and very different from our usual hotel stays.
