If you’re looking for a proper resort getaway from Singapore, Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast really gave me what I needed — a genuine break from the usual busy routine.
What impressed me most was that this isn’t just a hotel where you sleep and eat. There are so many things to do around the resort that you can easily spend the whole day here without feeling bored.
The Swimming Pool with Underwater Music!
The highlight for me was definitely the swimming pool with music that you can hear underwater.
Yes, you actually have to be inside the water to enjoy it!
I found this surprisingly fun. Normally, I might swim for a while and then get lazy, but the underwater music actually motivated me to keep swimming. It made the swimming experience feel completely different — almost like having your own little music world underneath the water.
For me, this was one of those small but memorable experiences that made the stay special.

What I really like about Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast is the resort-style atmosphere. You don’t have to keep finding places to go outside the hotel because there are plenty of activities available within the resort.

- Ball games
- Kids’ water play
- Stacking games
- Other outdoor activities
The hotel provides equipment for many of these activities, which makes it much easier for families to just grab something and start playing.
For families with children, this is a big plus. The kids can stay active while the adults actually get some time to relax.
Spacious Room with a Balcony
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the surrounding nature.
I really enjoyed having that extra outdoor space. Instead of feeling like you’re staying inside a standard hotel room, the balcony gives you somewhere to sit, slow down and enjoy the surroundings.
The bathroom was also surprisingly spacious, which I always appreciate in a resort hotel. There was enough room to move around comfortably, and the overall room felt suitable for a proper holiday rather than just an overnight stay.
A Breakfast Buffet That Really Impressed Me
The breakfast buffet was one of the biggest surprises for me. There was a really good variety of food, and the quality was noticeably good.
But the little things impressed me the most — they even had yogurt and Vitagen, which I thought was a really nice touch. It felt like the hotel was paying attention to having choices that both adults and children could enjoy.
After a good breakfast, you can simply start your resort day without rushing anywhere.
Free Drinks & Live Performance at Night
The resort atmosphere continues into the evening.
At night, you can enjoy performances while having free drinks, which makes the whole experience feel even more like a holiday.
It was nice to simply sit back, enjoy the entertainment and not worry about rushing off somewhere else.
And honestly, this is what I appreciated most about the whole stay.

From the quality breakfast and spacious room to the swimming pool with underwater music, family activities and evening performances, there was always something to enjoy.
The underwater music was probably my favourite experience because it was so unexpected. It even motivated me to swim more!
For families looking for a Desaru resort getaway, especially those travelling from Singapore, this is a place where you can arrive, settle in and simply enjoy the resort without needing to plan every hour of your trip.
