So, you're craving some authentic Hong Kong eats, la? Look no further, lah! Hing Kee Restaurant in Yau Ma Tei hits the spot for sure. This dai pai dong (air-cond eatery) vibes joint is legendary for their claypot rice, cooked to perfection in those sizzling clay pots. We're talking fluffy rice infused with all the wok hey flavours, just like how ah ma used to make it.
Hing Kee stands out as the ultimate late-night dining spot I've experienced in Hong Kong. Indulgent? Absolutely. But undeniably delicious!
Can you believe it? They've got a whopping five shop lots, and each one is packed to the brim! Amazing, right? Entering one of the shops, I found it bustling inside, yet surprisingly, I secured a seat right away. With minimal wait time, we placed our order, and before we knew it, the food arrived promptly.
The ambiance truly resembles a Tai Pai Tong, offering an authentic experience of local dining. You can genuinely feel the local vibe while enjoying your meal there.
Gettin' Fancy with Extra Gravaganza:
Feeling like a baller (or should we say, towkay)? Hing Kee has got you covered with their premium ingredients. We're talking about crayfish swimming in a rich claypot broth, perfect for dipping and dunking. Feeling adventurous? Try their fried pig intestine – crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, it's an experience for the bold! The Fried Intestine here is superb, something not commonly found in Malaysia or Singapore. What's impressive is its lack of heavy smell, which adds to its appeal and makes it a standout dish. Dish sold at HKD100
Not Your Average Omelette:
Special Shoutout: The Claypot Stingray Rice:
Listen up, seafood lovers! Hing Kee has a special dish that deserves its own spotlight – the claypot stingray rice. Imagine succulent stingray cooked in a claypot, its flavors melding with the rice for a truly unique and satisfying experience. The fish is tender and boasts fewer bones, adding to its appeal. The prices are quite reasonable considering the mouthwatering flavours of the dishes.
