Day 2: Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Hills & Genting Highlands Stay
We have our Famous Klang Bah Kut Teh at Teluk Pulai Bah Kut Teh before we start our journey.
Before heading up to Genting Highlands, we made a refreshing stop at Colmar Tropicale, Berjaya Hills. This European-inspired village is one of the most unique attractions in Pahang, offering a cool climate and postcard-worthy scenery.
Colmar Tropicale is inspired by Colmar, a charming historic town in the Alsace region of northeastern France, famous for its colorful half-timbered buildings and “Little Venice” canals. While the original is in France, you can experience a slice of Europe right here in Malaysia.
Staying at Antara Genting Highlands
After that, we continued our journey up to Genting Highlands and stayed at Antara Residence, which had only opened about two months prior.
This newly opened apartment is spacious and modern, featuring:
-
2 bedrooms
-
Individual TVs in each room
-
A master bedroom with a bathtub
One of the highlights was the balcony — the weather was cold and incredibly refreshing. From here, we could even see the nearby temple, and there’s a link bridge that allows guests to walk over easily
Day 3: Ulu Yam Loh Mee & Sekinchan Paddy Fields
Sekinchan Paddy Gallery
Next, we visited the Sekinchan Paddy Gallery, an educational spot where you can learn about Sekinchan’s history and the evolution of paddy planting — from manual labor to modern machinery.
-
Entrance fee: RM5 per person
Location: Sekinchan Paddy Gallery
Stay at Villa Chee, Sekinchan
We checked in at Villa Chee, a hotel listed as a 5-star stay on Trip.com. The property is located right in the middle of vast paddy fields, offering a peaceful countryside experience.
From the balcony, we could enjoy a beautiful sunrise view overlooking the fields. The hotel also has a water slide, making it very kid-friendly.
Fireflies Experience & Seafood Dinner
At night, we went for a fireflies boat tour, a short activity lasting under 30 minutes. The boat took us into the mangrove area, where we saw countless glowing fireflies lighting up the trees — truly magical.

Day 4: Mirror Sky & Sekinchan Beach
The next morning, we headed out early for Mirror Sky Sekinchan at 8:30 AM. After that, we stopped by Sekinchan Beach to see the famous wishing tree.
Day 5: Penang Hotel Stay & Hawker Food
We spent most of the day relaxing at our hotel, enjoying the private swimming pool. For food, we headed to Cecil Street Hawker Centre, one of Penang’s most famous hawker spots.
Later, we checked in at Lexis Suites Penang, where every suite comes with:
A private pool
Partial sea view
We spent plenty of time swimming and enjoying indoor facilities like ping pong, arcade games, and a children’s playroom. Since the weather outside was hot and we’ve visited Penang many times before, staying indoors was the perfect choice.
Day 6: Penang to Langkawi via Ferry
We booked our ferry at 3:00 PM, but the drive from Penang to Kuala Perlis took around 3 hours, and ferry passengers must arrive at least 1 hour earlier for document stamping. To avoid traffic, we left Penang at 9:00 AM.
The ferry ride to Langkawi took approximately 3 hours.
Stay at Dayang Bay Resort
We checked in at Dayang Bay Resort, which features an infinity pool facing a private beach. From here, you can enjoy sunset views with Maha Tower in the background.
The resort also offers entertainment facilities such as:
-
Pool table
-
Foosball
-
Ping pong
Day 7: Langkawi Cable Car, Sky Bridge & Beach Fire Show
After breakfast, we headed to the Langkawi Cable Car. The queue took about 1.5 hours, so patience is required.
To enter Eagle Nest SkyDome, you’ll need to purchase an additional ticket on-site.
Tip: The weather gets extremely hot — bring a hat and umbrella.
3D Art Museum
Our ticket also included the 3D Art Museum, the largest of its kind in Malaysia. The artworks were incredibly realistic — so convincing that my parents kept reminding me to be careful! It took over 1 hour to complete and was fully air-conditioned. This is a must-visit attraction.
Cenang Beach Fire Show & Shopping
In the evening, we went to Pantai Cenang, where you can catch fire performances hosted by different beach cafés. You can either watch from the shore or sit inside a café to enjoy the show.
We also bought kites and beach toys to play during sunset. A visit to The Zon Duty Free followed — prices were decent, but not as attractive as TS Duty Free.
Day 8: Kilim Geoforest Mangrove Tour
We joined a KLIM Geoforest Mangrove Tour at 2:00 PM. The tour lasted about 4 hours, with lunch included. While the weather was hot, the boat ride was windy and pleasant.
Highlights of the tour:
-
Mangrove Forest: Fish use mangroves as a safe healing ground because larger predators cannot enter.
Eagle Feeding: Limited to 50 boats per day.
Crocodile Cave: Shaped like a crocodile; inaccessible due to high tide and our larger boat.
Monkey Area: These monkeys are intelligent — they can swim and catch fish and crabs.
Bat Cave: Entrance fee of RM2. The cave is dark and filled with bats, so a torchlight is essential.
Snorkeling at Daling Island to end the tour.
Day 9: Langkawi to Ipoh
We woke up early for our 2:00 PM ferry, which again took 3 hours to Kuala Perlis. From there, we drove 4 hours to Ipoh, arriving around 9:30 PM.

Day 10: Ipoh Food & Tea Valley Stop
The next morning, we finally enjoyed Lou Wong Chicken Rice, a must-eat in Ipoh.
